希望自己說、寫出來的英文令人印象深刻，或更具說服力，不妨適時加入一兩句俗諺。但要注意諺語多為固定說法，引用時不能與原句有任何出入，否則恐會弄巧成拙。以下試舉五例：

1. Practice makes perfection. 熟能生巧。
2. Easier to say than to do. 說來容易做來難。
3. A friend in need is a friend in deed. 患難見真情。
4. Rather a man without money than money. 人格重於財富。
5. To err is a human. 人非聖賢孰能無過。

Debug Answer

1. Practice makes perfect. 「完美」的名詞應為perfection，但在這句諺語中須用perfect才對。
2. Easier said than done. 前面省略了it is作為主詞和動詞，said和done則是過去分詞，完整句為：It is easier said than it is done.。
3. A friend in need is a friend indeed. in need是「在窮困中的」，indeed是「真正地」。這句話唸起來很順，所以寫的時候很容易誤以為字眼要對稱。
4. Rather a man without money than money without. 這句話是說「寧可有人格而沒錢，也不要有錢而沒人格」。這裡用到的句型是Rather A than B，A與B在型態和結構上必須平行對稱，即Rather a man without money than money without a man.，但省略了句尾的a man。
5. To err is human. 全句是To err is human, (and) to forgive (is) divine.（凡人皆有過，唯神能寬恕），括號中的and和is省略；human和divine兩者對稱，都是當作be動詞後面的補語。
