choice, option 都是「選擇」，哪裡不一樣？

choice、option、selection、pick、alternative都是選擇，但它們的意思和用法有些不同，今天來看看各種不同的「選擇」。

1. Our choosing process is open and fair. 我們的選拔過程是公開且公正的。

2. You made good option. 你做了對的選擇。

3. The doctor says there are no better selection to the current treatment.

醫生說，沒有比當前的治療方法更好的選擇了。

4. Can you help me to select a color for my prom dress? 你可以幫我挑選舞會禮服的顏色嗎？

5. Lisa has been choiced as the new production manager by the firm’s directors.

Lisa被公司董事選為新任生產部門經理。

1. Our selection process is open and fair.
   Select是挑選，在眾多選擇中依自身及客觀條件淘汰不適合的，在仔細考慮後留下的最好選擇。在眾多選擇中，select最正式，書面最常使用，強調精挑細選，selection是它的名詞。
   
   
2. You made a good choice.
   Choice是choose的名詞。Choose更強調在選項中依客觀條件選出最適合的，通常在只有兩個選項或最終決定必做的選擇，例如：結婚對象、研究所。
   
   
3. The doctor says there are no better alternatives to the current treatment.
   Alternative也是選擇，have no alternative 或 have no option 或者 have no choice but to do something 的意思都是「沒有其他選擇」，alternative/option/choice這三個字可以代換。Alternative 還有多一層意思，指「與現有做法不同的解決辦法，或非傳統的事物」，中文常翻成「另類的」。
   
   
4. Can you help me to pick a color for my prom dress?
   Pick最口語。強調從選擇中依自身喜好隨意挑出想要的，但不一定最好或最適合的物品。
   
   
5. Lisa has been chosen as the new production manager by the firm’s directors.
   Lisa是被選派為新的經理，是被動語氣，需要一個過去分詞。Choose的過去分詞是chosen，不是choice。
