Account這個字有名詞用法，也有動詞用法，意思也很多元。看看自己和account有多熟。

1. The company is our best account.

Customer是人，說company是最佳的人不太合適，account有客戶的意思，用best account更合適。

2. John gave us a detailed account of his plan.

Account有說明的意思，是可數名詞，清楚的說明可以用a clear account，詳盡說明是a detailed account。

3. Keep an account of how much you're spending.

記帳是keep an account或keep accounts，用keep，類似用法是記錄用keep a record，寫日記用keep a diary。

4. How can you account for the accident?

Account 當＂解釋＂時是不及物動詞，若需後接受詞，要加 for。

5. He couldn’t come on account of his illness.

On account of意思是”因為、由於”，是固定搭配。
