Alive、living、live這些字看起來很像，意思也相近，來看看用法有什麼不同。

1. Although he is old, he is very alive. 他雖老了, 但還很有生氣。
2. He is the greatest alive scientist. 他是當今最偉大的科學家。
3. The woods are alive for birds. 樹林中到處是鳥。
4. That was the best alive performance. 這是最好的現場演出。
5. Is his father still alive? 他父親還健在嗎?

Debug Answer

1. Although he is old, he is (very) much alive.
Alive指「活躍的、有生氣的」，通常不用 very 修飾，但可用 much 或 very much 修飾。

2. He is the greatest scientist alive.
Alive當形容詞時，要後置，不能放在名詞前面。

3. The woods are alive with birds.
“Be alive with”是固定搭配，意為「充滿、到處是」。例如：The kitchen was alive with ants.　廚房到處是螞蟻。

4. That was the best live performance.
現場表演、實況轉播，用live，注意發音是 [laɪv]

5. Is his father still living?
Alive 同 living意思接近，都有「活著」的意思，但是在使用上有不同的用法。Alive 意指「活著、還沒死」， 如： 動物受傷、 植物缺水、工作過勞等情況下還活著。例：

• The dog that was hit by a car is still alive. 被車撞到的狗還活著。

• After working for12 hours straight, I am still alive. 持續工作了12小時， 我仍然活著。

Living指有「生命、在世的」。

• My grandpa is almost 100 years old. He is still living. 我祖父近百歲了，他還健在。

用”Is his father still alive?”語氣上不太禮貌，有點隱涵「難道他還沒死嗎」的意味。
