1. Acquisition 併購
The acquisition will make them the second-largest fast food retailer.
這次的併購將讓他們成為第二大的超市零售商。
2. Bottom line 盈虧狀況
常用來表示底限，例如：The bottom line is that we have to make a decision today.
我們今天必須做出決定，這是最後底限
Bottom line也指公司財務報表的帳目的盈虧結算線，衍伸指一間公司的盈虧狀況。
The best way to find out how well your company did that year is to look at your bottom line.
斷行要了解你公司那年的營運情形最好的辦法是看你們的盈虧狀況。
3. Break even 收支平衡
even形容平坦的，Break even是片語，本指打成平手，商業用語裡break even則表示收支平衡，breakeven合為一個字，就是收支平衡點。
The business has grown from breakeven six years ago to seven-figure profits this year.
六年前這家公司只能達到收支平衡，成長到今年擁有七位數的收益。
4. Capacity 產能
Capacity指容量，商場上指公司的產能。
All our factories are working at full capacity.我們所有工廠都在全力生產。
5. Competency 職能
最常用在人力資源人員評估員工是否勝任，許多人會將competence和competency搞混，兩者翻成中文都是職能，定義上卻大不同，competency包含知識、技術、思考模式等等多個面向，而competence單指工作所需的技能。

6. Coverage 報導

7. Disclaimer 免責聲明

8. Dispute (勞資)糾紛
勞工和資本方遇到意見分歧的時會用dispute，dispute本指兩者間的爭執，現在多用於勞資雙方或相鄰兩國的糾紛，比如legal dispute法律糾紛。

工會與管理層在工資問題上存在分歧。
9. Disruption 中斷
Disruption和interrupt都表示中斷，嚴重程度卻不同，interrupt是暫時被打斷，之後會繼續下去，比如會議被打斷，disruption是指秩序或規律被破壞，比如地鐵發生爆炸案，雖然可能恢復正常運作，但當下完全停擺。
Disruption to fuel supplies is bringing further problems for companies.
中斷石油供應為企業帶來更多問題。
10.Endorsement 背書
在支票或匯票上背書稱作endorsement，原指支持或代言，如：
The election victory is a clear endorsement of their policies. 競選成功對他們來說是政策的一大助力。
Please sign your name in the space marked for endorsement.
請在標明簽署的地方簽名背書。
11. Headcount 職員人數
字面上翻成數人頭，衍伸為人數，常用於表示職員人數，公司刪減人力，要說cut headcount或reduce headcount，增加人力則是expand headcount。
The company has cut its headcount and marketing spend.
公司進行了人力縮編和刪減行銷預算。
12. Initiative 積極主動
老闆都想要那種為了企業發展，工作中積極主動的員工，積極主動Initiative用法是take the initiative，職場上的用法跟單純的採取主動不太像，傾向擁有發起一件事的能力，initiative也表示倡議，如The peace initiative was welcomed by both sides. 和平倡議受到了雙方的歡迎。
The boss was on vacation when they ran out of materials, so Julie took the initiative and ordered more.
老闆去度假時原料用完了，Julie帶頭決定要買進更多。
13. Integrity 正直、誠實
integrity意思是完整性，在企業中通常是談人品、道德上的正直。
No one doubted that Tom was a man of the highest integrity.
沒有人會懷疑湯姆是一個光明磊落的人。
14. Inventory 存貨、清單、清點
make an inventory 有開清單的意思，inventory本身是存貨：
The shop reduce an inventory by having a sale.
商店作一次性的銷售來減少存貨。
15. Launch 發表會、開始
Launch名詞是發表會，商業場合做動詞通常指發行(商品)、開始(新事業、新活動)：
Peter and his partner launched into a new business.

16. Manage 設法做到、安排

The board raised margins from 40 to 50 percent.

20. Niche利基；適合的角色
Niche是商機，大市場忽略的部分。Niche market就是利基市場，也可以這麼說：

We have to reduce expenditure on overhead 減少經常費用的開支。
