一個句子，幾個動詞？英文句子中若已有一個動詞，第二個動詞須以不定詞、動名詞或過去分詞的形式出現，然而，在某些特殊情況下，第二個動詞仍是原形形式，倘若一時不察，就成了bug所在。以下五句，請試著糾錯。

1.You had better had your hair cut. 你最好把頭髮剪了。
2.Bill suggested that I attended the party. 比爾建議我參加派對。
3.Dont worry. Ill go fixing the faucet at once. 別擔心，我立刻就去修理水龍頭。
4.My brother did nothing but watched TV all day. 除了看電視，我弟弟一整天什麼事都沒做。
5.Parents should not let the children to stay at home all by themselves.
家長不應該讓孩子獨自待在家裡。
Debugged
1.You had better have your hair cut.
錯誤句用had，是因為誤想成S+had+V-pp的句型。had better在這裡如同助動詞一般，後面須接原形動詞。
2.Bill suggested that I attend the party.
完整句應為Bill suggested that I should attend the party，should常被省略未說／寫出，但其後的動詞仍必須因有should這個助動詞，而以原形形式出現。
3.Dont worry. Ill go fix the faucet at once.
這句也可以用Ill go to fix the faucet at once. 而在美式口語用法當中，come, go 這兩個動詞之後的to（有時是and）會被省略，而用「come/go + 原形動詞」說法：
Come look at this. 來看看這個。
Go tell him to come. 去通知他來吧。
4.My brother did nothing but watch TV all day.
do nothing but這個片語中的but意同except（除了），其後所接的動詞必須是原形動詞；另外像是cannot help but（不得不）後面也是接原形動詞。
5.Parents should not let the children stay at home all by themselves.
let、get、have、make當「使役動詞」時，後面接了受詞後再出現的動詞，須以原形形式表現。
